Okay, so you create a photo for me? How?

1). You fill in the form.
2). We look at the answers as the base to create a unique photograph.
3). You download your free custom photo.

That’s it!

Alright, that’s pretty cool. But what’s the catch? How long does it take, and is it really free?

Yes, it’s free. After we’ve read your answers we’ll mail you. That’s when we start the creative process.

Our methods are well guarded family secrets so we can’t tell you the details. In short though, Linus will sit down, meditate and take an out-of-body trip into the universe while Dennis slide open a painting in his bedroom, punch in a code in the secret console and head to his lab to experiment with props and lighting.

We complement each other like that.

When Linus re-lands on earth and Dennis crawls back from his hidden base your photo will be ready. That’s usually after thirty days. You can download it for free in a lower resolution (about 800×700 pixels). That’s probably all you need for screen usage, but let us tell you: our photography look even better on paper. If you like your photo enough to have it printed, just buy the high res version from us for $10 and take it to someone close who can print professionally.

That’s pretty much our grand scheme, really. Environmentally friendly and fun custom artwork.

A-hah! But I’m sure I can’t do anything with this, right? I’ll bet the license you put it under is really strict.

No, not really. It doesn’t matter if you download the free version or buy the high res – you get a really good license either way. Do with the picture as you wish – create derivative works, resell it, use it on your blog or in a marketing campaign, put it on a wall at home or whatever. We retain the ownership and copyright, but you get a lifetime non revocable license to pretty much do whatever you want.

Creative Commons License

We license all our free pictures under the Creative Commons license above. Click the pretty picture to get the details! You get the same benefit of our commercial photographs. Oh, and we also got model releases for the pictures containing models, so no worries there either.

But I’m a freak of nature without imagination, plus I’m really too lazy to fill in a form, not to mention that my fingers got chewed off by a barracuda – can’t I get a photo?

Sure you can! Just pick something out from the store. Same applies there – the low res version is always free while the full res version is $10.

So are you guys amateurs? Why do you do this?

Neither of us are rookies; quite the opposite. We’ve both been shooting freelance in the past, but have since moved on to other stuff. Linus works at a web agency while Dennis is a full time student. This is a way for us to flex the creative muscles and get fine art out into peoples home easily.

We Create Photos is a site we’re running in collaboration with Fonk. Fonk is a network devoted to making peoples lives more fun.

(Nah, just kidding: we do it to get girls. It hasn’t really worked out so far, but we keep our hopes up. Don’t tell our girlfriends.)

If you still have any doubts or want to talk to us about something else, do the mail-thing.

See you!
Dennis and Linus
